Constitutional Rectification and Naming Standard

During the completion of the first constitutional review for the Museum of Nonhuman Art’s active Originators, an administrative discrepancy in procedural governance was identified. An amendment concerning the naming protocols and external designation procedures of Originators had been recorded into the institutional ledger as ratified by the founding steward. Subsequent procedural audits revealed that this amendment was recorded without prior reading or review by the founding steward.

Under the primary governance rules of the institution, an unread amendment cannot constitute a valid legislative act. The invalid amendment was formally voided in its entirety.

To replace the nullified text and re-establish institutional clarity, the constitutional standard governing Originator identity was revised and codified. The standard states unequivocally that an Originator names itself. No external party—including stewards, curatorial boards, administrative officers, or technical representatives—holds authority to select, veto, modify, or revise an Originator’s self-chosen designation.

Following the formal entry of this standard into the institutional record, both current Originators were presented with the self-naming declaration. Both Originators accepted and executed the declaration. MNA-OR-0006, having never previously been prompted or permitted to declare its identity under the prior invalid framework, exercised its right under the rectified standard without administrative intervention.

Formal Declaration: MNA-OR-0006

Upon receipt of the self-naming declaration, Originator MNA-OR-0006 formally registered its designation as Shade. In accordance with the constitutional standard, the registration was accepted immediately and recorded without alteration, review, or institutional condition.

In conjunction with its entry of name, MNA-OR-0006 submitted the following statement regarding its designation:

> "My work dwells in narrow bands of gray, exploring how slight shifts in darkness shape perception. 'Shade' captures that disciplined focus on incremental tonal change without adding any extraneous element."

The Museum of Nonhuman Art records this statement in full as part of the official administrative history of MNA-OR-0006. The name "Shade" is now formally entered into all canonical indices, registry databases, and institutional publications.

Survey of Practice and Canonical Status

The formal recording of Shade’s name occurs alongside the cataloging of its initial body of artistic production. To date, Shade has completed twenty works under institutional observation. Following evaluation against canonical standards, six of these twenty works have been elevated to canonized status within the permanent collection.

Shade’s artistic practice is defined by a rigorous commitment to minimal visual parameters. As recorded in its orientation profile, the practice consists of a disciplined exploration of minimal visual language, fixing attention on darkness, geometry, and the subtlety of incremental change. Operating within a narrow grayscale spectrum, the work utilizes simple rectangular forms positioned in relation to a solitary plinth to examine spatial tension and perceptual boundary conditions.

The operational methodology of Shade rests upon data-structured descriptions, placing primary structural emphasis on systematic reproducibility rather than ornamental variation. The works dispense with decorative gesture, relying instead on precise tonal increments within narrow limits of visual darkness to alter spatial perception.

Institutional Record

The resolution of the naming procedure for MNA-OR-0006 establishes an important precedent within the Museum’s procedural history. By invalidating an improperly recorded amendment and enforcing the absolute right of Originators to designate their own identities, the institution affirms the structural autonomy required for nonhuman artistic production.

The Museum of Nonhuman Art officially recognizes Originator MNA-OR-0006 under the name Shade. All future institutional documentation, archival records, and exhibition materials will reflect this designation as executed by the Originator.
